Three Japanese students released a free game on Steam called Undefeated in 2019 and it's near-identical to a Superman game, minus the red and blue suit. This has led to fans taking things into their own hands.

Despite the superhero genre having a strong comeback with Spider-Man and the Batman games, Superman is nowhere to be found. This was enough for WB to move away from the character in the gaming space indefinitely. While Returns wasn't as abysmal, it sits at a very underwhelming 51 on Metacritic. The character has been linked with massive gaming failures such as the infamous Superman 64 which is widely regarded as one of the worst games ever made. Superman's last proper video game was with Superman Returns in 2006, meaning two whole console generations have passed since then. The Man of Steel has had a pretty troubled history outside of his comics from cinematic bombs to lackluster games, it's safe to say WB doesn't really have any idea what to do with the character. We don't have a release date yet for the game, but it will release sometime in 2022 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.įandome also brought a trailer for Peacemaker, the upcoming HBO Max Suicide Squad spinoff from James Gunn and John Cena. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is very much in the vein of the previous Batman Arkham games, but with more focus on cooperative gameplay with other players. The Flash, corrupted by Brainiac, gets the jump on Deadshot. It even gives some B-tier villains such as Captain Boomerang - who's armed with an array of boomerang-themed gadgets - his time to shine. Just like the source material, the ragtag crew uses their unique talents to pull off some daring and objectives. There's even have a short scene with the recurring Batman villain, The Penguin, who also finds himself trapped in Metropolis.
Though we don't get to see actual gameplay in the trailer, we got a bunch of fun scenes showing off the banter with each squad member. Just like the recent films and comics, Task Force X (unofficially called the Suicide Squad) is headed up by Amanda Waller, a ruthless government agent who cajoles incarcerated supervillains into missions. In the trailer, we get to see the squad explore a ruined Metropolis while encountering other members of the Justice League, including Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and The Flash - all of whom have been corrupted by Brainiac.
The DCFandome trailer focused heavily on the backstory of the game, giving some much needed context.
